Bodies of dead miners to be pulled out by Friday

Dhanbad (Jharkhand), Sep 8 - Rescue workers hope to finish pulling out the remaining bodies of the 54 dead miners from Jharkhand's Bhatdih coal mines by Friday evening, police said here.

Rescue workers have so far brought out the bodies of 30 miners from inside the Bharat Coking Coal Limited (BCCL) mine. They miners were trapped inside following an explosion Wednesday night.

'If my husband has died then at least his body should be recovered for a last glimpse,' said the wife of a trapped miner.

Authorities said they would do the post-mortem on the bodies at the site and hand them over to the families immediately.
