"Mitra also ridiculed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her prime ministerial ambitions and accused her of venting her ire on the BJP which has spoilt her prime ministerial dreams."
Kolkata, April 12 - Asserting that the Lok Sabha polls in West Bengal was a contest between the Trinamool Congress and his party, BJP leader Chandan Mitra Saturday accused the state's ruling party of unleashing terror.

There is a strong undercurrent of popular support to Bharatiya Janata Party - in West Bengal and those who think that the electoral contest is between the Trinamool and the Left Front are mistaken.

In most of the seats here, the fight is between Trinamool and BJP, Mitra told media persons here.

Alleging large scale threat and intimidation by the Trinamool, he demanded deployment of central paramilitary forces.

Central paramilitary forces must be deployed to ensure free and fair polls, he said, alleging that what is going on in the state was jungleraaj.

We have seen the Naxal period, the rule of the Communist Party of India-Marxist but Trinamool regime has surpassed all, said Mitra, who is contesting from Hooghly.

Mitra also ridiculed Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her prime ministerial ambitions and accused her of venting her ire on the BJP which has spoilt her prime ministerial dreams.

Refusing to comment on the number of seats his party will bag from Bengal, he exuded confidence of the BJP coming up with unprecedented results.
