Srinagar, April 22 - Jammu and Kashmir's anti-corruption organization Tuesday arrested a police officer while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000, an official said.

Following a specific complaint, sleuths of the state vigilance organization today arrested assistant sub-inspector - Abdul Kabir, posted at Khirbhawani police station in Ganderbal district, a senior officer of the state vigilance organization told IANS.

The police officer was arrested red-handed in presence of a magistrate while he was accepting a bribe of Rs.5,000 from the complainant.

The officer said after his arrest, Kabir has been lodged in the vigilance police station here where an FIR has been registered against him.
