Dhaka, April 24 - Border Guard Bangladesh - have detained an Indian national from Benapole, a border town with India, for possessing contraband gold.

The border guards, after receiving a tip-off, caught Putul Rani, 35, from Ghiba border area, Motiur Rahman, commander of Jessore 26 BGB Battalion, said

Rani hails from West Bengal's South 24 Parganas district, bdnews24.com reported.

Five gold bars were found in her possession.

She is now in the custody of Benapole Port Police.
