"Police searched the campus and found no weapons. The lockdown was lifted several hours later and school resumed as normal."
Washington, April 30 - A high school in Texas, US, was placed on lockdown after a student received a text message that someone carried a weapon on campus.

A male student at the Madison High School in San Antonio received a text message from an unknown number Tuesday morning stating, I have a weapon, Xinhua reported citing KVUE TV Wednesday.

The student reported it to a teacher who then informed the school administrator and afterwards the school was placed on lockdown.

The same student then received a second text saying the lockdown was a joke.

Police searched the campus and found no weapons. The lockdown was lifted several hours later and school resumed as normal.

A 17-year-old female has been arrested.
