Tehran, May 11 - Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said Sunday that Iran's nuclear programme was peaceful and the country will continue with it.

Rouhani said Iran's nuclear activities were within the directives of the Non-Proliferation Treaty - and international regulations.

Iran has not followed illegal actions and has not tried gaining nuclear arms, Xinhua quoted Rouhani as saying.

The head of Iran's nuclear negotiating team Hamid Baeidinejad said the talks were fruitful.
