Kolkata, May 16 - Bollywood singer and BJP nominee Babul Supriyo won the Asansol Lok Sabha seat in West Bengal, defeating his nearest rival Dola Sen of the Trinamool Congress Friday.

Supriyo won by a margin of over 70,000 votes.

Reacting to his successful foray into politics, Supriyo dedicated the victory to his voters and the unsung party workers.

I don't have words to describe the feeling. I dedicate my victory to the people of my constituency and my party workers who despite severe odds worked tirelessly. Though unsung, the party workers are the real heroes, Supriyo told IANS.
