New Delhi, May 21 - Indian security equipment manufacturer MKU Wednesday said it will display a range of lightweight ballistic protection systems for choppers at the international aerospace exhibition ILA Berlin, 2014.
The Indian company will display its latest ultra lightweight equipment solution through its German subsidiary. The patented solutions have been developed with research and development (R&D) field trials at the company's Germany-based labs.
In the past, the company has provided protection solution for more than 200 rotary and fixed-wing aircraft including choppers like Mi-17, Mi-8, Bell 212, Super Puma, Sikorsky CH53 and Black Hawk.
Helicopters armoured by MKU have seen active service in some of the harshest battlefields of the world like Afghanistan, the company said in a statement.
The company has 25 years of experience in providing end-to-end solutions and project management in development and production of ballistic protection systems for aircraft, land vehicles, naval vessels and objects against blast waves, splinters and bullets.
MKU has provided body armour and helmets to more than 1.5 million soldiers and ballistic protection solutions for almost 2,000 platforms worldwide, the company added.
The company is also a registered NATO supplier since 1993 as well as an accredited supplier to the Federal Office of Bundeswehr Equipment, Information Technology & In Service Support (BAAINBw).
