New Delhi, June 6 - BJP leader Sumitra Mahajan was Friday unanimously elected the Lok Sabha Speaker.

Her name was proposed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and seconded by BJP patriarch L.K. Advani and union Home Minister Rajnath Singh among many others.

Mahajan, eighth-time MP, is the second woman to be elected as the Lok Sabha Speaker after Meira Kumar.
