Bangalore, June 13 - Leading energy producer Tata Power Solar has set up root-top solar panels at 62 sites across Gujarat with a cumulative capacity to generate 3 MW to its state-run distributors, the city-based company said Friday.

The cumulative capacity includes 1.2 MW plant for Gujarat Energy Development Agency, a 750-kilowatt (kW) plant for Surat Municipal Corporation, and 1.1 MW projects for smaller industries across the state.

The 1.2 MW solar power project at 34 sites will generate 1.8 million units of energy. All projects were executed on turnkey basis, with the cumulative 1.1 MW of solar roof-top panels for corporates, engineering firms, pharma units, commercial complexes and the food industry, Tata Power Solar chief technology officer Arul Shanmugasundaram said in a statement here.
