Gaza, June 15 - Israeli war jets Saturday night carried out a series of intensive and successive airstrikes on various military targets in southern, central and northern Gaza Strip, injuring one person, officials said.
Israeli war jets, which hovered over the coastal enclave at night, fired several air- to-ground missiles at various targets that belong to militant groups, security officials in Gaza told Xinhua.
The officials said that the war jets fired one missile at a training facility that belongs to Islamic Jihad in the southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah, while two other missiles targeted areas used for launching rockets into southern Israel.
They also said that the war jets fired two missiles on training facilities that belong to Islamic Hamas movement's armed wing in the southern Gaza Strip town of Khan Younis.
Witnesses said that huge explosions were heard all around the targeted areas in southern and central Gaza Strip, adding that Israeli war jets also targeted a training facility for Hamas near Nuseirat refugee camp in central Gaza Strip.
The Gaza emergency spokesperson told reporters that one Palestinian was moderately injured in the airstrikes on southern Gaza Strip town of Rafah.
The airstrikes were Israel's response to the rockets fired earlier from the coastal enclave into southern Israel, for which no one has claimed responsibility.
Earlier Saturday morning, Israeli war jets also carried out two airstrikes on training facilities that belong to Islamic Hamas movement. No injuries were reported.
