New Delhi, June 22 - The week ended on a hot, sunny note Sunday as the maximum temperature settled two notches above the season's average at 40 degrees Celsius. Light rain is expected Monday, the Met Office said.

The sky will remain partly cloudy tomorrow (Monday). Some parts of the city may get light rain and thunderstorms, said an official of the India Meteorological Department.

The maximum and minimum temperatures Monday are expected to hover around 39 and 28 degrees Celsius, respectively.

Sunday morning was sunny and hot. The minimum temperature settled at 30.3 degrees Celsius, three notches above the season's average.

The day's maximum humidity was recorded at 66 percent.

Saturday's maximum temperature was 41.7 degrees Celsius, four notches above the season's average, while the minimum was 32.7 degrees Celsius, five notches above the season's average.
