Seoul, July 2 - North Korea Wednesday fired two short-range projectiles into waters off its east coast, a day after South Korea refused a proposal to stop all military hostilities, an official said.

The projectiles were fired at 6.50 a.m. and 8 a.m., the official at the South Korean defence ministry told Xinhua.

The projectiles, which flew some 180 km, were fired from Wonsan areas, North Korea's southeastern region.

North Korea Tuesday offered a proposal to South Korea to halt all military hostilities from Friday.

South Korea refused the proposal saying that it lacked sincerity.
