Paris, July 10 - France Wednesday urged Israeli officials and Palestinian authorities to urgently resume peace negotiations to reach a fundamental solution, to end the deadlock in the Middle East and ease tensions in the region.

Asked about Paris proposal to de-escalate tensions in Gaza Strip, the French foreign ministry's spokesperson Romain Nadal said the current crisis confirms the urgent need to revive the political process in order to find a fundamental solution, whose general terms are known, Xinhua reported.

At least 44 people were killed in Hamas-controlled enclave after Israel has launched a massive air raid on Gaza following the death of three kidnapped Israeli youth.
