New Delhi, July 14 - Around 40 JNU students, including some Left activists, protested at the Israeli embassy here against the air-strikes by Israel in Gaza Strip area and were detained, police said Monday.

The students from the Jawaharlal Nehru University were detained while they marched towards the embassy on Delhi's Aurangzeb Road and broke barricades on their way.

Police said the activists were under preventive detention and would be arrested, if required.

We had already told the activists Sunday not to protest at such a high-security zone as it was not allowed, a police official told IANS.
