The Hague (Netherlands), July 15 - Feyenoord attracted Khalid Boulahrouz on a free transfer from the Danish club Brondby IF, the Rotterdam based club has announced.

The 32-year-old defender underwent a medical examination Monday and signed a one-year contract, with an option for another season, reports Xinhua.

I am very happy, Boulahrouz said on the club's website. Feyenoord is a great club. I am very proud that I can wear this shirt.

Saturday Feyenoord announced an agreement with Southampton on the departure of Graziano Pelle. The 28-year-old striker follows coach Ronald Koeman to the Premier League club. Fred Rutten is in charge at Feyenoord this season.
