" This is India's seventh medal from the discipline at the 2014 Games after two golds, one silver and three bronzes won previously. "
Glasgow, July 27 - Punam Yadav won bronze in the women's 63 kg weightlifting category bringing in India's third Commonwealth Games medal Sunday.

Shooters Shreyasi Singh (women's double trap) and Mohammed Asab (men's double trap) had won a silver and bronze apiece earlier in the day.

Punam finished third with a total lift of 202 kg behind Nigerians Olauwatoyin Adesanmi and Obioma Okoli who took the gold and silver, respectively.

Both the Nigerians lifted a total weight of 207 kg but Olauwatoyin clinched the yellow metal because according to the rules the lighter competitor is deemed the winner. Olauwatoyin, at 62 kg, is a kilogram lighter than her compatriot.

The Indian had a best lift of 88 kg on her third attempt in snatch and 114 kg on her second attempt in clean and jerk.

This is India's seventh medal from the discipline at the 2014 Games after two golds, one silver and three bronzes won previously.

In all, India have bagged 20 medals at the Glasgow Games so far -- 5 gold, 8 silver and 7 bronze.
