" A zero FIR has been registered and the case will now be transferred to the Ghaziabad police, he said."
New Delhi, July 27 - A 25-year-old Delhi University student has filed a complaint against one of her friends, saying he raped her in a flat in Ghaziabad near the capital, police said Sunday.

The woman filed a complaint at the Mehrauli police station in south Delhi.

Police said the woman, a resident of Mehrauli area, had developed friendship with the 28-year-old accused Anil Sharma around a year back.

On Saturday evening, Anil called the woman and asked her to meet him at the Vaishali Metro station, from where he took her to his flat in Vijay Nagar in Ghaziabad where he allegedly raped her. He also threatened her with dire consequences, a police official said.

A zero FIR has been registered and the case will now be transferred to the Ghaziabad police, he said.

A zero first information report (FIR) can be filed in any police station, irrespective of the place of incident.
