Abuja, July 30 - Five people were killed when a woman suicide bomber blew herself up in a college in Nigeria Wednesday, a media report said.

The suicide attack took place in a technical college in northwestern Nigeria's Kano state, Xinhua reported.

The incident follows a spate of recent suicide bombings that hit the state five times in the past week.

The female bomber mixed with the students before unleashing terror, said Ibrahim Ado, a student who witnessed the attack.

Three people were killed in two suicide bombings in the state Monday.

Kano state, the hub of commercial activities in Nigeria, has witnessed an increasing number of attacks in the last two weeks.

Boko Haram is suspected to be behind the attacks.
