New Delhi, Aug 8 - The government Friday evening effected major changes in the media wing, shunting Neelam Kapur, the principal director general of media and communication of the Press Information Bureau (PIB), to the directorate of field publicity.

In another major change, Doordarshan Additional Director General S.M. Khan has been put on compulsory wait.

Archana Dutta, director general (News) in All India Radio (AIR), has been given additional charge of DD (News). She took charge of her new assignment Friday evening.

She was an appointee of the previous United Progressive Alliance government.
