Kolkata, Aug 11 - A pillar on a platform at the busy Howrah station in West Bengal collapsed Monday creating pandemonium during rush hour traffic. However, no injury or disruption in train services was reported, an official said.

A pillar at platform number 14 collapsed today (Monday). There was a brief pandemonium but nobody was injured. Train services are operating smoothly, an Eastern Railway spokesperson said.

The incident took place when the down Kalka Mail was leaving the platform.
