New Delhi, Aug 13 - Passenger car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki Wednesday said its gasoline powered K-series engine crossed 25 lakh (2.5 million) production milestone early this month.

According to the company, the engine which powers bestselling brands such as Alto K10, Celerio, Wagon R, Swift, Dzire, Ertiga and Ritz is compact light weight, fuel efficient and uses next generation gasoline engine technology.

The engine debuted in 2008 with A-star and brought in light weight compact superior gasoline engine with high fuel efficiency and lower emissions.

The engines also powers alternate fuel (CNG and LPG) vehicles offered by the company.
