Chennai, Aug 14 - Tamil Nadu Governor K. Rosaiah, in a message on the eve of Independence Day, Thursday called for contributing to peace, progress and prosperity.

Rosaiah said: Let us on this auspicious occasion resolve to dedicate ourselves to strengthen our national fabric and shoulder the responsibility of taking our nation to greater heights.

May we pledge to uphold our nation's sovereignty and integrity and contribute our might for peace, progress and prosperity, he said.
