" Paulo Foneca's Pacos de Ferreira caught up in the second chance and was close to drawing twice, but Cicero's header went over and Helder Lopes' effort went wide."
Lisbon, Aug 24 - Porto beat Ferreira 1-0 at the Capital do Movel stadium Saturday in the second round of the Portuguese League.

Colombian striker Jackson Martinez scored in the 40th minute with a left-footed effort to the second post following a cross by Quintero, Xinhua reported.

Porto was trying to get back on track after their dominance was interrupted last season, finishing third, and had to turn to Spanish coach Julen Lopetegui.

Porto dominated the game in the first half but wasted several scoring chances.

Paulo Foneca's Pacos de Ferreira caught up in the second chance and was close to drawing twice, but Cicero's header went over and Helder Lopes' effort went wide.

Ferreira hasn't beaten Porto since 2002/2003, when it won 1-0.
