Harish Adhlakha, from Gurgaon's Palam Vihar area, Lalit from Darbhanga, Bihar, Aman from District Kangra in Himachal Pradesh and Harish alias Hari from District Almora in Uttrakhand were arrested from sector 56 here after a brief gun battle Sunday night.

The mastermind Harish Adhlakha hatched the plan after watching crime-based serials on television, joint police commissioner (crime) Vivek Sharma told reporters.

He roped in Aman, Lalit and Harish promising to pay Rs. 3 lakh to each.

Aman, who worked for a finance company, managed to get mobile SIM cards on fake identities.

Adhlakha visited the house of former district Congress president Madan Lal Grover nearly a month ago for purchasing one of his cars and planned to target him.

The accused threatened Grover to kill him and his son if he did not pay Rs. 10 crore. They made over 60 phone calls, first on Aug 20, Sharma said.

Eleven SIM cards, eight phone sets, two pistols, a car and bike were recovered from their possession.
