Beijing, Dec 15 - At least 11 people were killed after a fire broke out in a bar in central China's Henan province, authorities said Monday.

A total of 35 people were rushed to the hospital after the fire broke out early Monday in the Huangguan karaoke bar in Changyuan county, Xinhua quoted the county government as saying in a statement.

The blaze was extinguished 45 minutes later. However, the 11 of the 35 victims died after emergency treatment failed, according to the statement.

Bo Xuebin, the county's party chief, ordered all karaoke bars in the county to suspend the operation and undergo overhauls.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
