Pyongyang, April 15 - North Korea Sunday held a military parade here to celebrate the 100th birth anniversary of the country's founder Kim Il-sung.
North Korean leader Kim Jong-un lauded the contribution of his grandfather for the country's development. He died in 1994.
Noting that the country is facing a momentous opportunity, Kim Jong-un called upon the nation to stick to the path followed by his predecessors, the China Daily reported.
Tens of thousands of people attended the ceremony at Kim Il-sung Square here. It was one of the many activities planned to celebrate Kim Il-sung's 100th birth anniversary.
Kim Jong-un recently became the first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea -, as well as chairman of WPK's Central Military Commission. He was also appointed as the first chairman of the National Defence Commission.
