Mumbai, Oct 8 - Filmmaker Karan Johar, who wanted to make an animated version of his hit directorial debut Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, says he has now kept the project on hold.
Animation films are not working nowadays, so as of now I have kept it on stand-by. Let's see when the market changes. Nothing is finalised right now. It is on a tentative stage, Johar told IANS.
Released in 1998, the film starred popular on-screen couple Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Actress Rani Mukerji too featured in a supporting role, while Salman Khan made a guest appearance in it.
Karan had titled the animated version as Koochie Koochie Hota Hai.
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai remains one of Johar's most popular films that made him a household name.
Malaika behind the scene in 'Dabangg 2'
Model-turned-actress Malaika Arora Khan's item number Munni in Dabangg was a chartbuster, but for the action-comedy's sequel, she is focusing more on behind the scenes activities.
I am not actively involved on the sets of 'Dabangg 2' in terms of creativity, but I am more behind the scenes. I am more office and literally back-stage, which is a new experience for me because I have always been on the camera, said Malaika.
The 39-year-old turned producer with her husband, Arbaaz Khan, when their company Arbaaz Khan Productions released its first film Dabangg in 2010.
'David' release not yet decided
Director Bejoy Nambiar clarifies that the release date of his forthcoming film David has not been finalised yet.
Everybody asking about 'David', please note that we are still trying to figure out an ideal release date for both languages. Will post updates, Nambiar tweeted.
The film has been simultaneously made in Hindi and Telugu. It features Vikram, Lara Dutta, Vinay Virmani, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tabu and Isha Sharvani.
